We sat outside on a nice day. It was beautiful. Breakfast was delicious and service was topnotch. I left with a box of French pastries. The best in Montreal. Highly recommended. Perfect date night thanks too your server RObert and the crew very helpfull the only down fall was we were the last ones to leave in a hood way.

Its such a comfort too go to a place that we are treated like people and not a number bravo too your staff and the food. Good food, decent prices. The obnoxious French attitude is included in the price.

Good ambiance good atmosphere Staff are friendly. I used to frequent this restaurant before it expanded and loved having a coffee and pastry there. The setting is beautiful with all the light coming in and view of the oratory.

However, the food was extremely disappointing and way overpriced. I ordered an avocado sandwich on croissant and could barely find the avocado. My friends enjoyed their meals more, but did not feel it was worth the hefty price. We do not intend to go back.

I just love this place! It's been 25 years since I last visited Montreal and this was on the top of my places to eat We went three times during our brief stay! Staff was lovely too! Greatest array of beautiful pastries. Great friendly, attentive servers. Super coffee. Our favourite when we visit Montreal. The environmental is nice and the noise is low, this is a good to talk with a friend or family.

The portion size of the breakfast is ridiculously tiny. The omelette can't have more than 1. It's not a meal, it's an overpriced snack. A Montreal gem for coffee pastries and a meal. My family and I were there for my birthday. The service was, as always, friendly and outstanding. Duc de Lorraine consistently offers terrific food, desserts and service for any occasion! My must go place in Montreal.

We had lunch sitting outside on a cool summer's afternoon. We sat in shade under cover with open sides and a garden area nearby that made us feel that we were in a garden too! The service is appropriately slow but we were not in a hurry and enjoyed talking to the servers especially the pastry expert! Lunch dishes were tasty, we shared a salmon quiche which came with a lovely salad.

But the highlight and real reason to go to this restaurant is for the French pastries! We were not disappointed and enjoyed a variety of delicious desserts and took many home too! The mille feuille is the best I have had in a long time! Since we live in the US, these delights, which are called Napoleons, and are a poor imitation, that does not come close to the custard filling that is not too sweet with perfect flaky pastry and the icing on the top that is also just right that we had at Duc de Lorraine. It is always on my list of places to visit in Montreal.

I have never seen nor tasted such beautiful and delicious pastries and danishes. Wow and again, wow. Wish I did not live a thousand miles away. These Goodies are so good it will blow your mind. Did not disappoint. Terrace was nice, service was professional. Food was simple and good. There was a public event happening just out front, so there was some music and entertainment.

Nice experience. Fabulous as always.

Côte-des-Neiges—Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, parfaitement Montréal!

Beautiful terrace on a closed street during the summer. Service is super Professinal. Coffee is served here t with hot milk, as it should be served. Birthday was great outside in the sun. Great breakfast place. Quebec's version of Paris' LaDuree. Buy some pastries on the way out, millefeuille is outstanding. Sign up Sign in. Duc de Lorraine. Top tags: Afternoon Coffee. See All.
